Preview of Work in Progress for "My Unicorn"
Maybe this won’t hold up, but I have to say: this album feels very different from anything I’ve done before. It feels like a bridge between Abandoned Pools and my work as a composer—something I’ve been naturally moving toward for a while now.
So far, there are no drums, no bass, no electric guitars or synths—just a more stripped-back, orchestral approach. Here's an example from a song I’ve been working on called “My Unicorn.” I'll be posting more at The Escaping Society.
The Escaping Society Officially Launches
I’ll be hosting a live event Tonight at 6pm PST to officially launch The Escaping Society. It's free to join the Abandoned Pools Discussion where you can also RSVP in the Event space.
And coming up later this week...
This week's featured song in the House of Abandoned Pools is “Tighter Noose.” We’ll be doing a deep dive with both studio versions, the original demo, plus rare video footage and photos from the recording sessions.
Over in The Conservatory, we’ll kick things off by setting some creative goals for the next 6–12 months. I’ll also be sharing a behind-the-scenes look at a woodwind arrangement I’m currently developing for “My Unicorn,” along with a discussion on workflow and process.
